SERVPRO of Beckley Slams Storm Damage Out of the County

When storm damage hits your home, it can seem overwhelming. At SERVPRO® of Beckley, we know where to start. Let us help with your home restoration, so you can focus on what matters most. We are Here to Help.

SERVPRO of Beckley Loves the Rumors of a Mild Climate

A friend brought in an article about how the mountains surrounding us moderate our weather, which must be why no one can remember there being more than nine tornadoes in one day, or there has been no snow or rain or wind or hail since…

Never mind

It doesn’t matter.

We don’t deal in rumors. We work with the reality. SERVPRO of Beckley has plenty of experience remediating damage from:

  • Rain, snow, ice, hail
  • Mold resulting from long-term water damage
  • Wind (replacing or repairing stonework, roof tiles or shingles, flooring, sheetrock, etc.)

We don’t stop at undoing the damage. We also work to restore your home and its contents by refinishing stonework, replacing carpet and other flooring, repainting, and doing whatever is necessary to bring your home back to its preloss condition.

Call us as soon as you can.

Emergency services are always available, with “always” meaning “always”, not “always, unless it’s inconvenient.”

Especially during the holiday season, we know it’s important to get your home livable as soon as possible.

Yesterday’s Future

2021 is on the not-so-distant horizon, so some of us at SERVPRO of Beckley decided to peek at what people from decades ago predicted about 2020. Their ideas were interesting. Correct? Not so much.

1937

Nikola Tesla predicted that coffee, tea, and tobacco would go out of style. No one would ban them; it’s just no would want them. Alcohol, however, would remain “an elixir of life.” Just try prying coffee machines away from most people you know.

1951

Families won’t need cars because personal helicopters will cost only $5,000; considering how much damage we do on the ground, having most of the traffic in the air seems like a recipe for disaster.

1966

SF author Arthur C. Clarke predicted our houses could fly and relocate. If you want a view of the Pacific Ocean, just program your house to go there.

1967

In case helicopters don’t work out, trained apes would drive the family cars, reducing the number collisions. Yeah, people aren’t great drivers, but why would apes be better? Having chauffeurs would reduce parking problems, but there’s nothing else going for that idea.
